CO-FOUNDERS OF GALLIPOLI YOUTH CUP

Umit Oraloglu and Pat Cash have been business partners since 2004, in a short amount of time, they have achieved a lot of "firsts" in regards to tennis projects in Australia and Turkey.

In 2005, the first ever Anzac Legends Cup was held in Istanbul at the renowned Coliseum Centre. It was the first time a tennis event was held in Turkey to commemorate the fallen soldiers at Gallipoli.

In the same year, again for the first time, with Umit and Pat's key involvement, a WTA event was held in Istanbul and it was named after the historical city itself, the Istanbul Cup. For more information please log onto www.istanbulcup.com

In 2008, with Pat as the Ambassador and Umit as the founder, in conjunction with Tennis Australia, held a new international junior tournament, the inaugural Gallipoli Youth Cup.

The Gallipoli Youth Cup is a chance for our younger generations to proudly and uniquely carry on the tradition and values inherited from the soldiers who fought at Gallipoli.

Sport is inherently a big part of Australia and what better way to teach our kids the importance of keeping the ANZAC spirit alive by giving our youth the oppurtunity to commemorate our war veterans through ongoing participation and competition in sport.

The event will also focus on educating school children who will be attending the tennis tournament about the Gallipoli campaign, benefits of living a healthy lifestyle and teaching our youth the value of mateship so that we may all grow to be as one and live in harmony.
